- 1 bottle pinot grigio
- 1 cup elderflower syrup
- 1 whole peach sliced
- 1 cup green grapes sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
Optional additions
- splash Soda water to top
- 4 oz gin
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1 whole lime sliced
In a pitcher, mix together white wine, elderflower syrup, and fruit. If you are adding the gin, lime slices and/or apple juice, pour that in as well.
If serving immediately, grab your glasses and fill with ice. Pour the sangria mix to about 2/3 of the way, top with soda water and if you like garnish with a lime slice, peach slice or green grape. Sangria holds well in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 days and the flavour only gets better.
The sangria is fantastic with a pinot grigio, but feel free to use what you have for wine - just try and stay away from wines that are super sweet (riesling/gewurtztraminer) or super oaky (chardonnay).
If you can't find elderflower syrup, you can also use elderflower liqueur. However, I would lower the amount to 1/3 of a cup of the liqueur.
This sangria is perfect as the recipe is written, but if you do want to spice it up a notch, I would add the gin and lime slices and if want it a little sweeter, add the apple juice. Or you can get crazy and add all three, it is delicious like this as well.
